It is the first as well as the only institution in India offering a unique technique of external fixators which is perfected by Professor Oganesyan from Russia.

Established in 2005, SRM Medical college is a part of SRM University which is now known as SRM Institute of Science and Technology.

A unit of an international network of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics and Nodal Bioethics for India is established at SRM Institute of Science and Technology.

8. Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, New Delhi

HIMSR was established in 1962 and has constantly been one of the best medical colleges in the country. The institute is affiliated to Jamia Hamdard.

5. St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, Bangalore

St. John’s Medical College is a private religious minority medical college and hospital situated in Bangalore, India, established in 1963.

4. Christian Medical College, Ludhiana

Christian Medical College, Ludhiana was the first medical school for women in Asia and was founded in 1894. It is a private, minority-run teaching hospital in Ludhiana, India.

3. Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore

Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore is located in Light House Hill Rd, Hampankatta, Karnataka, and was established in 1955 as a part of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education along with other two hospitals.

However, in 1977 KMC Mangalore got established as an independent medical college. The college is approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI). KMC Mangalore courses include undergraduate, postgraduate as well as research courses.

2. Kasturba Medical College, Manipal

Recognized as India’s first self-financing medical college, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal was established by T.M.A. Pai on 30 June 1953.

At present, students from 44 countries have graduated from KMC, and the medical degree of KMC is recognized worldwide. Since its first graduating batch, the college has been recognized by the Medical Council of India.

At the first position, is none other than this minority-run medical school founded in 1900 by an American missionary, Dr. Ida S. Scudder. CMC Vellore has been conferred with many awards including the Public Health Champion Award by the WHO.

Since its inception, CMC Vellore has brought many significant achievements to India like starting the first College of Nursing, performing the first reconstructive surgery for leprosy in the world, performing the first successful open-heart surgery, first kidney transplant, first bone marrow transplant in India and many more.
