We all love to post their content and make new friends on Instagram. Also, we try many tips and tricks to increase the number of followers. However, it is also important to differentiate your celebrity/global brand account from fake accounts to avoid losing your followers and many other losses. Getting your account verified ensures that the account is used only by you, and it is not a fake account. So, for the very same reason, we come up with a complete guide on How to Get Verified on Instagram.
People can differentiate between a verified account and a fake account by seeing a specific symbol with your username. The verified account’s username will be displayed with the “Instagram verified logo”. The “Instagram verified logo” looks like a blue seal with a small checkmark.
So let’s see how you too can get the verification badge next to your username.
Eligibility For Getting Verified Badge:
Before getting your Instagram account verified, let us check if your account is eligible for getting verified or not.
According to Instagram, for getting your account verified, your account must be:-
- Authentic:
You should be the person who you say you are. Your account must represent the real person(you), registered business, or entity.
- Unique:
Your account must be the unique presence of the person or business that it is representing. Only one account per person or business may be verified, except for language-specific accounts.
Note:-Instagram doesn’t verify general interest accounts (example: @kittenmemes).
- Public:
Your account’s privacy setting must be public and it must have a bio, profile photo, and of course, at least one post. Your profile shouldn’t contain any “add me” links to any other social media services.
- Notable:
Your account must represent a celebrity, brand, or entity. The person must be well known and a highly searched person. Instagram review the accounts that are featured in multiple news sources, and it does not consider paid or promotional content as sources for review.
Note:- Although you already have a verified badge on Facebook doesn’t mean that you are also eligible to get verified on Instagram.
Getting verified on Facebook is easier as it grants verification for small businesses too. However, Instagram grants verification to only some public figures, celebrities, and the Instagram accounts that have a high likelihood of being impersonated.
